City Health hosts GBV awareness event

29 November 2024

The City of Cape Town’s Health Department brought together community leaders, residents and NGO’s at an event in Khayelitsha earlier today to put a spotlight on their Women’s Health Co-op sessions.

The aim of these sessions are to reach women who are faced with the challenges of HIV, GBV and substance abuse and who are not accessing care through City facilities.

‘The sessions provide information; empowering women with knowledge and encouraging them to access care to address the issues they are faced with,’ said Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health, Councillor Patricia van der Ross.

Women who would like to be a part of the sessions, can enquire at their nearest clinics.
